Fire at Mickley Lane 29 December 2018
Yesterday evening Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service attended a fire at Mickley Lane.
As soon as he became aware of the situation Councillor Barry Barnes, Chairman of the Parish Council immediately travelled to the village and spoke to the emergency services offering to open up the Village Hall if it was required.
Thank you to all emergency services in attendance at this incident.

Warning from Trading Standards
Derbyshire Trading Standards Service and Citizens Advice Consumer Services have received complaints from members of the public about mattresses being sold from the back of a van.
Reports state the driver is saying the mattress is a failed delivery and now needs to be sold at a ‘knock-down’ price before he can return to base.
It is alleged that the invoice that comes with the mattress is in the name of a company which no longer exists. It is also alleged that he may be inflating the true cost of the mattress to make it sound more of a bargain.
Mattresses sold in the UK must comply with safety regulations such that they are flame-resistant and must have a blue safety label attached. With no way of tracing the seller, there is no way of checking whether the mattress is safe, and it has been known for false safety labels to be stitched in to look authentic.
When selling goods at the door, the trader must, by law, also provide customers with written confirmation that they have a 14-day cancellation period in which they are entitled to change their mind about the purchase, and how to obtain a refund. In this case, the trader is not issuing this paperwork.
Derbyshire Trading Standards Service wishes to advise people to be wary of anyone selling goods in this way, as legitimate companies very rarely sell mattresses in this way.

Lamppost Poppy Campaign
Shirland and Higham Parish Council are proud to have taken part in the British Legion Centenary Lamppost Poppy campaign. The Parish Council have made a donation to the British Legion and poppies have been attached to posts throughout the four villages of the parish as a mark of respect.
Parish Council Appoints New Parish Clerk
and Responsible Financial Officer
Shirland and Higham Parish Council is delighted to announce the appointment of Helen Dowson as Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer from the 12th April 2018. Helen is an experienced Parish Clerk with over thirty years Local Government experience and is looking forward to getting to know the Parish and working with the Council on its many and varied projects. David Williamson, Deputy Chair of the Parish Council welcomed Helen and wished her a long and happy career with the Council.
Clerk Retires
Dr Tom Tait will be retiring from his role with Shirland and Higham Parish Council on the 27th April 2018. Tom joined the team in 2014 and has overseen a number of developments within the Parish. Cllr Barnes, Chair of the Parish Council placed on record his grateful thanks for Tom's contribution to the continuing development of parish projects and on behalf of the Council wished him well in his retirement.
Shirland Pedestrian Crossing to be Upgraded
28th March 2018:
Following pressure from Shirland & Higham Parish Council DCC Highways Department has agreed the existing Zebra Crossing outside the Red Lion Public House in Shirland is to be upgraded to a 'Puffin Crossing'. The design work and consultation will take place over the next two months.

Mickley Village Hall: New Committee Established
The remaining village hall committee called a meeting of residents to discuss the future of the hall on Friday 28th of November and we are now pleased to announce a full committee for the hall has now been formed with a committee of seven members.
The committee are full of enthusiasm with plenty of ideas for the future of the hall and we hope that members of the community will engage to make the hall a success.
Rykneld homes have been key leaders in keeping this facility available for the residents of Mickley and have also been working to achieve grants to improve and upgrade the facility with new doors windows internal flooring and decor.
Cllr Barry Barnes, Chair of Shirland and Higham Parish Council expressed his thanks to the original committee members for their continued efforts and Jason Sadler and his team from Rykneld's for their continued support.

New Garden of Remembrance for Shirland Cemetery
Planning permission has been granted for New Cemetery Facilities.
Shirland & Higham Parish Council has successfully aquired planning permission from North East Derbyshire District Council to extend the current cemetery in Shirland and to construct a new remembrance garden where ashes of loved ones can be scattered. A new car park will also be constructed for mourners to use during burials/ interments. The car park will remain closed at all other times. The Council is keen to involve local people in the design of the new cemetery extension and will be consulting on it over the coming months.

Stonebroom Children's Play Area Improvements Completed
The Parish Council is please to announce the completion of the £25,000 upgrade of play equipment at Stonebroom playing fields which includes a round a bout where able-bodied children can play along side children who use wheelchairs.

The Parish Council has been asked to comment upon the above planning application (17/01033/OL). A large number of parishioners have contacted the Parish Council voicing concerns about the proposed development. At this time the Council cannot comment until the planning application has been formally submitted to North East Derbyshire District Council. The Parish Council will be notified when this happens and the application will be discussed at the next Parish Council Meeting when a recommendation will be formulated to be submitted as part of the statutory consultations period.

Bus Shelter A61 (southbound) Shirland
Following requests from Parishioners, the Parish Council began talks with Derbyshire County Council to explore the possibility of having a bus shelter erected at the bus stop towards Alfreton just up from St Leonards church. Recently, the Parish Council has received further approaches from Parishioners relating to this matter. Below is the correspondence from the County Council detailing why it is not possible to have a bus shelter. The letter has been edited to protect identities.
Good afternoon *****. ***** copied me your e-mail regarding the bus stop / shelter issue for Shirland Main Road / Church Street.
I note that you have a Parish Council meeting for 20 March and thought that it might be useful to give you some background on what we are currently looking at and why.
The current bus stop is positioned immediately before the radius for the turn into Church Street; it is also part on kerbs which are standard height and some which are almost level with the carriageway. Additionally it is on the inside of a tapered lead-in to the turn into Church Street. This creates a number of issues for the safe operation of the bus stop.
The County Council has an on-going programme to improve accessibility at bus stops. This generally involves providing a run of kerbs (absolute minimum of 3) with a greater height than normal resulting in a significantly reduced step height between bus and footway. Even if it were possible to do this at the current site it would push the stop position back by around 3m, closer to property No. 73; there may also be difficulty in achieving the necessary footway height because of the proximity of the adjacent property thresholds and services.
If it were possible to do the necessary work at the current location we would have to provide clearway markings (the yellow ‘Bus Stop’ boxes you may have seen) to protect correct and safe access to the raised boarding area. This would extend for at least 23m taking out much of the area currently available for kerb-side parking.
For the avoidance of doubt it would not be possible to accommodate the Parish’s request for a shelter at this position.
I note *****'s suggestion of providing a “lay-by…out of the large grass verge almost opposite the existing north bound stop”. Quite apart from the fact that it is not good practice to position bus stops immediately in advance of pedestrian crossings there is insufficient length available in which to construct a lay-by here – we would need 53m overall. Furthermore the County Council does not support the provision of new bus stop lay-by’s unless there is a specific Highways Traffic & Safety consideration to satisfy which there isn’t at this site.
I hope the above gives some background to the considerations being given to your request for a bus shelter at this location.

- The combination of varied kerb heights provides an uneven area for passengers getting on or off buses.
- The lowered section of kerbing (most of the bus stop area) increases significantly the difficulty for passengers with restricted mobility as they have a high step up on to or down from the bus; it would also be difficult to safely deploy a ramp (because of the increased gradient) if required by a wheelchair user.
- The tapered lead-in results in a bus standing in the stop at an angle to the main carriageway. This effectively restricts the drivers ability to see traffic approaching from the rear (they can only see the back end of the bus). This is exacerbated when cars are parked on the immediate approach to the stop as this increases the angle at which the bus actually comes to a stand.

£25,000 Investment in Play Equipment for Stonebroom
The Parish Council is pleased to announce a significant investment in new play equipment for under 5's at the Children's Play Area, Stonebroom. Cllr Barnes stated "... the new equipment is a much needed resourse for younger children and compliments the existing play equipment for older children such as the MUGA and tennis courts." Work will commence installing the new equipment in Septemper 2017 after the children return to school following the summer holidays.
Fly Tipping in the Parish
Some of our Parishioners will be aware that fly tipping is becoming more of a problem in the area especially in Shirland. Cross Lane, off Park Lane has seen two episodes in the last few days. One in particular was a lorry load of building material just dumped.
Not only is it unsightly but often the contents of the rubbish could be hazardous especially to children who can be found playing in these areas during the school holidays.
The Council is grateful to everyone who has reported these incidents however we ask you to be vigilant. If you see any incidents of tipping, please let us know. We will pass on any information that will help bring a successful prosecution against the perpetrators.
Our villages have some lovey countryside for all of us to enjoy. Please don't let these thoughtless fly tippers spoil it.

If you report it, the rubbish can be removed and with your help the crime can be investigated. If you see someone fly-tipping, or you want to report an area where fly-tipping has taken place, take note of the following:
Date, time and place of the incident
What the waste looks like and how much there is
Descriptions of any person and/or vehicles involved along with the registration number
AS FLY-TIPPERS ARE DOING SOMETHING ILLEGAL, THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE CAUGHT. DO NOT APPROACH THEM OR PUT YOUR OWN SAFETY AT RISK.
The Parish Council together with the local authority and the Environment Agency have powers to tackle fly-tipping and they have agreed a fly-tipping protocol to address the important issues associated with the problem. The protocol sets out who will deal with different types of incidents. Local Authorities will deal will smaller scale, more frequent incidents and the Environment Agency will deal with larger scale, more serious incidents of illegal waste disposal, or fly-tipping including hazardous wastes and tipping carried out by organised criminals.

If you report it, the rubbish can be removed and with your help the crime can be investigated. If you see someone fly-tipping, or you want to report an area where fly-tipping has taken place, take note of the following:

What the waste looks like and how much there is
Descriptions of any person and/or vehicles involved along with the registration number
AS FLY-TIPPERS ARE DOING SOMETHING ILLEGAL, THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE CAUGHT. DO NOT APPROACH THEM OR PUT YOUR OWN SAFETY AT RISK.
The Parish Council together with the local authority and the Environment Agency have powers to tackle fly-tipping and they have agreed a fly-tipping protocol to address the important issues associated with the problem. The protocol sets out who will deal with different types of incidents. Local Authorities will deal will smaller scale, more frequent incidents and the Environment Agency will deal with larger scale, more serious incidents of illegal waste disposal, or fly-tipping including hazardous wastes and tipping carried out by organised criminals.

Serious Scam Incident in Shirland
The Parish Council has received information from North East Derbyshire District Council's Customer Communications Department relating to a very serious incident in Shirland today (18/07/2017). Please be vigilant and inform any vulnerable people you may know to be on their guard.
"A vulnerable 76 year old adult care client has been threatened by two men who visited her property and demanded they cut her hedge and then extracted an extortionate payment. One of the men put his hand on her shoulder and his face close up to hers and said "You seem like a nice lady but I can hurt you". He then pressed his fingers harder into her shoulder. She felt very threatened, intimidated and afraid. The younger of the two men kept his foot wedged in the door preventing her from closing it. The men also entered her property four times.
The client paid £500 in cash (although the client says they asked for £150,000 initially) and they refused to give her receipt when she asked for one. Initially the client did not call the police but this has now happened and she is also being supported to access Victim Support. This was clearly a very frightening incident and it is important that other people are alerted."

New Defibrillator for Stonebroom
The Parish Council has purchased and installed a new defibrillator at St Peters Church Stonebroom. Training in its use is being organised by the Community First Responders.

Stonebroom School Forest Project Vandalised
As reported over the weekend on our Facebook Page the school project has been badly damaged by vandals. Investigations have already identified that the damage was done on Saturday 20th May between 12.30 and 14.30.
The children's wooden fort was completely demolished. The high Tarpaulin was ripped down and is beyond repair. Yesterday school staff made safe this piece of equipment due to loose ropes hanging down. The children's stick den was also damaged and the camouflage nets were also ripped beyond repair. The recently constructed pond has also been damaged.
Already the good people of Stonebroom have rallied round and the Teachers have received donations towards the cost of replacing the equipment. Unfortunately its not just the cost of replacing equipment that is required but the school would be grateful for any help people can offer in re-building the facility making it safe for the children to use again.

Defibrillator Training
The Parish Council has installed a defibrillator in Shirland and is now installing a second in Stonebroom. Defibrillators save lives. If you live in the Parish and would like to undertake a FREE one hour training programme on how to operate one and potentially save a life, please contact us by email. Parish Council to Create all Year-Round Nudist Picnic Area
Following representations from two National Nudist Organisations, the Parish Council has agreed to take part in a trial providing an area for all year-round nude picnicking and associated recreational activities.
A small wooded area between Shirland and Stonebroom is set to have underground heating installed to make it an all year-round destination for naturalists. In a new pilot scheme being trialled in the Parish, Derbyshire heating company Deep Blue Flame has been commissioned to install specially designed underground heating and heating outlets across the secluded site.
The project, which begins today April 1st, will include the installation of a large commercial gas boiler, 10 heating outlets and meters of underfloor heating pipework installed to the main tree lined area. This heating will enable the ground to keep at a constant temperature of between 18-23 degrees throughout the year and the evergreen foliage will ensure the ground is dry and damp free.
Deep Blue Flame Director, Anna Sasin said, ” Having explored a variety of options for this area we are delighted to announce our plans for gas heating in this secluded area in the Parish of Shirland & Higham.
"Subject to the pilot scheme analysis, we are hoping to roll the project out to other suitable wooded areas over the next 18 months. Given the ever-changing Derbyshire weather we think this will enhance the Nudist visitor’s experience even on days of inclement weather.
"We are exceptionally proud to have been chosen for this project and look forward to supporting further suitable areas as an all year-round destination designed for nude picnickers throughout the UK.”

Stonebroom Youth Club Members Raise Money for
The British Heart Foundation
A group of twelve members of the Stonebroom Youth Club took part in a sponsored walk on Saturday 11th February to raise money on behalf of the British Heart Foundation. Parish Council Chairman and Youth Club Leader Cllr Barry Barnes stated he was proud of the young people's achievements and hope to organise a similar event in the near future.
Mining Memorial Dedication
On Sunday 5th February we held a joint celebration with Shirland Brass Band which was very successful. Dennis Skinner MP and Cllr Barry Barnes unveiled the new Mining Memorial Display Board and then presented our award winning Brass band with their recently won accolades. Shirland Cemetery
The cemetery has suffered some minor subsidence over the past few months. Shirland and Higham Parish Council is committed to ensuring the cemetery is kept in good condition at all time. Subsidence is quite normal where developments are located in a mining area.
Our staff has commenced 'topping up' graves to ensure they are as level as possible and further grass seed has been planted to the top soil. Following winter further grass seed will be applied as required.
Quite a few graves have been routinely maintained in this way which the photograph shows. This programme of maintenance is essential and should be completed within the next four weeks.

Dog Fouling
We are being plagued by dog 'poo' in the cemetery. Not only is it a health hazard but it can be distressing for relatives visiting loved ones to find a pile of poo on the grave. Dogs are not allowed in the cemetery and we ask you to call the office and let us know if you witness anyone taking their dog into the cemetery or any dogs running wild.

Community Speed Watch
Volunteers from the villages of Shirland, Morton, Calow and Sutton-cum-Duckmanton will be helping police in a long-term campaign to encourage drivers not to speed.
A Community Speed Watch initiative has been launched and around 20 residents have been trained by officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood policing team to monitor the speed of traffic.
Community Speed Watch involves volunteers carrying out checks to note any vehicles travelling at excessive speeds using radar guns. A letter is then sent to the owner to advise them about their speed and asking them to respect local limits.
They are supported by each of the Safer Neighbourhood policing teams for their area and if any particular hotspot areas are identified then police enforcement checks are carried out.
Signs are put up whenever Community Speed Watch checks are being carried out to help make passing traffic aware and volunteers wear high-visibility tunics to let people know they are a volunteer.
PC Dave Price, of the local Safer Neighbourhood policing team for Shirland and Morton, said: “Community Speed Watch gives local people the ability to actively get involved in raising awareness of road safety and encouraging motorists to drive within the legal limits. It has been set up to help us target the issue, which residents have told us is a concern for them.
“Motorists who speed through local villages are often unaware of the impact it can have on local people and the risk to the safety of other road users and pedestrians. The main aim of the Community Speed Watch initiative is to raise awareness of the speed limit on local roads and hopefully make them safer for all.”

The Mickley BMX and Skate park has been closed until further notice. This is due to surface breakdown. It is hoped the track will re-open in the next two weeks.

Seat to Commemorate the Queen's 90th Birthday
Shirland & Higham Parish Council is proud to announce that phase one of the Shirland Mining Memorial was completed this morning with the installation of a seat at the top of Hallfieldgate Lane, Shirland. Work on phase two has already begun with the designing of the display board which will inform people of the role mining played in Shirland's past. The display will be sighted next to the commemorative seat so people will be able to sit and look over the site of the colliery and with the aid of the display board visualise where the key buildings were located.

Mickley BMX Track: Abuse of the Facility
The Parish Council has received a number of complaints from residents of Mickley Village that the BMX track is being abused by motor bike riders and quad bikes have been seen in the park. Road Repairs: Shirland
The following works are due to take place in the week commencing 15/8/16 and will be carried out during weekday working 08.00-16.00hours, under a Temporary Road Closure and traffic lights. Park Lane from A61 to Bevan Close. These repairs to the carriageway are expected to last for two weeks and some delays for motorists are to be expected.
Pavement Repairs: Stonebroom
Week commencing 1st August 2016 at Bikinstyle Lane, Kingsley Crescent to Birkinstyle Avenue extensive footway resurfacing will take place from 08:00 to 16:00. These works will take place under traffic lights control and delays will be experienced. The repairs are scheduled to last for 5 weeks.

On the 1st August to the 5th August 2016 an unnamed section of the B6013 in Shirland between Bumphill Lane and Main road will be closed for patching prior to surface dressing.Alternative route(s) will be signposted.
On the 15th to 26th August 2016 between 08:00 & 16:00 daily Close Park Lane, Shirland between A61 main Road and Clay Street will be closed to facilitate carriageway resurfacing and highway drainage works. Alternative route(s) will be signposted. Please feel free to share these notices.

Local Shirland Athlete Niamh Emerson is heading to Tbilisi, Georgia with the British Athletic Team
Shirland athlete Niamh Emerson will be leading the British Athletics Team to Tbilisi. Earlier this month, Niamh recorded a huge personal best of 5,815 points eclipsing the British heptathlon youth record previously held by Olympic finalist Katarina Johnson-Thompson. Like Johnson-Thompson, the 17 year old is developing into a world-class high jumper after winning the Loughborough International with a clearance of 1.89m, while also winning bronze at last weekend’s British Championships in Birmingham.
If she carries on breaking world records she will be an Olympic champion for sure and Hallfieldgate Lane will have its very own gold post box!

Stonebroom Consultation Result
The result of the consultation into the siting of the play area in Stonebroom suggests that people are happy with the location of the facilities. As a result of the comments received, the Parish Council is embarking on a planned painting programme of the existing equipment and is looking into the feasibility of adding a further piece of play equipment within the fenced area. Thanks go to all who took the time to submit comments.
Councillor Resignation
On Monday 13th June 2016 Mr Stephen Jones resigned as a Parish Councillor. The Shirland and Higham Parish Council wish to place on record its appreciation for the work Mr Jones undertook on behalf of the Council and wish him well in his future.
Community Speed Watch
27th April 2016: The Parish Council is keen to promote a safer living environment for everyone resident or visiting our Parish. The Council is committed to support initiatives that help reduce the speed of traffic through our villages. Despite the introduction of speed reduction measures, it has been highlighted by members of the public that speeding drivers continue present a problem.
The Parish Council therefore will be forming a Community Speed Watch Group to monitor and record the speed and registration number of vehicles travelling through our villages in an attempt to improve driver behaviour thereby preventing collisions by encouraging drivers to slow down.
If you too have a wish to enjoy safer roads in our villages and have an hour or two spare a week then the Parish Council would love to hear from you. Full training and equipment will be provided. It is hoped the scheme will go live in June 2016.

New CCTV for Mickley
20th April 2016:- The Parish Council is pleased to announce the installation of new, state of the art CCTV cameras near Mickley Village Hall in response to residents' concerns over anti-social behaviour. The Council is grateful to Rykneld Homes who provided financial assistance to the project.

The Parish Council has installed dog bins to assist with the problem of dog fouling in the area, however the footpath in question is still in a very untidy state. Your local Parish Councillors are keen to help.
To celebrate the Queen's Birthday next month, Keep Britain Tidy are holding a 'clean for the Queen event'. The Parish Council has registered its interest and it is hoped that a few interested Stonebroom Villagers will join with the Parish Council to collectively clean up the litter which is blighting the village.

Anti-Social Behaviour in Stonebroom: Police & Agencies Respond
Residents from Stonebroom attended the January meeting of the Parish Council to raise their concerns about a spate of anti-social behaviour taking place around properties in the vicinity of the GP's Surgery. Responding to concerns police have increased patrols around the area together with instigating a multi-agency approach to resolving the problem.
The police, together with representatives from Rykneld Homes have interviewed local residents to collect impact statements. Rykneld homes has also begun to issue tenancy warnings. Those individuals who have been identified as being involved in anti-social behaviour have been issued with nuisance letters. Acceptable Behaviour Contracts are in the process of being drawn up and the police will consider the implementation of a temporary dispersal order if the previous measures do not resolve the situation.
However this is not just a police problem as the community need to work together on this issue. The Parish Council, the community we serve and the parents of the children all have a very large role to play in reducing this anti-social behaviour as do partner agencies. The Parish Council looks forward to harnessing all the goodwill and efforts of everyone involved to implement an effective and lasting solution to this problem..

Abandoned Pony 21st September 2015
Unfortunately the Parish Council has discovered an abandoned pony in one of our fields in Shirland. Somebody has deliberately left this lovely animal without food or water. This is called Fly-Grazing as the land is being used illegally. The Control of Horses Act 2015 allows the Parish Council to remove the animal to a place of safety. If the owner cannot be identified within 96 hours, the Parish Council will either re-home it, euthanise it or sell it privately.
The Parish Council would much prefer the pony to be returned to its owner within the three day time frame. If you do know of anyone who may have lost a pony or know of someone who may be able to help, please share this post. Thank you

Theft Warning 13/07/2015
There has been a spate of thefts from vehicles in Mickley, Stonebroom and Shirland. Please BE VIGILANT, especially if you own or have access to builder/work vans. Our local crime prevention team request that anyone who does own one of these vehicles ensure that no tools are left inside the vehicle as it is quite clear the offenders are particularly attacking vehicles to steal tools.

Safer Roads around the Parish 17/07/2015
In an effort to make our roads safer, the Parish Council has joined with our neighbouring Parishes to purchase a radar device. The hand held radar gun is now being deployed throughout the Parish and a significant number of speeding motorists have either been stopped and warned about their driving or have been prosecuted.

Repairs to Shirland Village Hall 18/07/2015
The Parish Council has approved a number of repairs and improvements to Shirland Parish Hall. Work is scheduled to commence during the summer and it is hoped there will be minimal disruption to planned activities.
Adoption of a Phone Box 28/07/2015
The Parish Council has recently completed the adoption process of the telephone kiosk (similar in design to photo) located at the end of Hallfieldgate Lane and its junction with the A61. In a response to the withdrawal of the mobile library service, the Council plan to turn the kiosk into a free book lending facility for parishioners. Work on its conversion is planned to start in August 2015.

Tradespeople across Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire, Bolsover and Amber Valley are being urged to make sure their vehicles are secure after a recent series of vehicle break-ins and thefts.
Police have received reports over the last few weeks of works vehicles being targeted on business sites and homes across the division, with valuable tools and equipment stolen from within.
Simple crime prevention advice includes:
Community Safety Inspector Russ Dakin added: “One very important piece of crime prevention is for people to simply lock it or lose it! Some reports of break-ins and thefts come from those who have left keys in the vehicle’s ignition or left the vehicle insecure.
“Thieves are ready to strike and seize their chance when they notice someone has left a vehicle unattended or it is unlocked or not properly secured. “I would urge local tradespeople to consider stepping up their vehicle security in a bid to clamp down on this type of crime. If local residents notice anyone acting suspiciously in their area, please contact police on 101 or 999 if a crime is taking place.”

- Fitting your vehicle with an alarm;

Some of this will come from rights of way budget by revising targets set out in the Rights of Way Charter and by reducing staff. They are holding an online consultation asking for views on this proposal and how the reduction in service will affect you
It is important that DCC are made aware of important Public Rights of Way are to walkers and the Society urges you to take part in this consultation which can be found here at last

I’d like to introduce myself. I have just started in post as Community Development Worker (Health North East Derbyshire). My role is to give support to existing groups, in initially around Heath and Holmewood and Shirland area, and to instigate and support new ideas from the community. I would also like to try to get more of the community involved as volunteers and to help promote their own ideas around healthy lifestyles.

Fraudsters have created a high specification website template advertising flat screen televisions for sale which are below market value and do not exist. Payment is being requested via bank transfer and will offer no protection to the consumer when the television does not arrive.

If you believe that you have been a victim of fraud you can report it online at http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report_fraud or by telephone on 0300 123 2040.
